The Hydrographical Service of the Naval Forces of Kazakhstan has closed navigation in the northern part of the Kazakh sector of the Caspian Sea.
In this regard, the Zhaiyk hydrographical vessel held a set of measures to remove floating warning signs, the press service of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic reported on Monday, December 10.
"These activities are associated with lowering the temperature in the waters of the Kazakh sector of the Caspian Sea," the report says. The closure of navigation in the Caspian Sea is intended to increase safety at sea during the winter period and is primarily due to the deterioration of weather conditions, the formation of ice and other interference to shipping.
