The National Security Committee does not keep track of the security certificates installation by Kazakhstanis, Kazpravda.kz correspondent quotes deputy director of State Technical Service RSE of the NSC, Zeken Ismailov, as saying on the sidelines of the briefing in the CCS.
"In order to find out how many certificates are installed on mobile phones, I have to enter the phone. No one has such an opportunity. Accordingly, I do not know whether you installed it or not, hence I don't have any statistic on it," Ismailov said.
He noted that it was never planned to keep tabs on it.
Earlier residents of Kazakhstan were asked to install the security certificate of the Qaznet Trust Network for Internet access. As stated in the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry, the technical works aim to enhance the protection of citizens, government agencies and private companies from hacker attacks, Internet fraudsters and other types of cyber threats.
