
II meeting of the National Public Confidence Council has kicked off in Nur-Sultan under the chairmanship of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
The event is held in the Palace of Independence.
The meeting will discuss the pressing issues of political, economic and socio-cultural modernization with the consideration of the recommendations of the Council members, society and civil community. It should be reminded that the first meeting of the National Public Confidence Council was held September 6, 2019.
On October 30, the President met with the members of the Council for discussing the prospects of development of civil society and interaction between human rights organizations and governmental structures, sociological studies in implementation of the ‘listening state’ concept. The meeting also debated the recommendations on improvement of the activity of public councils, autonomy of universities and health insurance introduction.
Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced the establishment of the National Public Confidence Council at his inauguration ceremony on June 12, 2019. On July 17, 2019, the President signed the decree «On approval of the regulations and composition of the Presidential National Public Confidence Council.» Among the members of the Council are prominent public activists, deputies of the Majilis, economists and political scientists.

Kazakhstan will simplify the registration of political parties. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev gave such an instruction at the second meeting of the National Council of Public Confidence.
“There are various kinds of obstacles for creating political parties. For registration, 40 thousand party members are required. This was once an imperative of the time, now in the new political conditions, given the opinions and requests of our citizens, we must change this system,” - Tokaev said.
The President noted that it is necessary to reduce the requirements for the number of participants to 20 thousand people, gradually amend the laws on parties and elections and provide for a mandatory 30% quota for women and youth.
“We should encourage active involvement of women in politics, especially in the legislative process. In the same way, we should facilitate the entry of young people into the Parliament and local representative bodies,” concluded the President.
Tokayev instructed NBK to keep tenge rate in control
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed the National Bank to keep the national currency exchange rate under control.
“Volatility and instability of our national currency rate, of course, worries our citizens, our business. From January 1, 2020, the National Bank will provide monthly, quarterly, currency exchange information,” Tokayev said.
In addition, according to the President, a currency exchange rate chart will be published, and a monetary policy strategy will be adopted.
