Kazakhstan appoints new Finance Minister

On President Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev’s order, Yerulan Zhamaubayev was appointed Minister of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

He held several posts in the Presidential Administration, was assistant to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan (11.29.2018 - 22.03.2019), executive secretary of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan (from 03.22.2019).

Earlier Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has appointed Alikhan Smailov as the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kazinform has learnt from the Akorda’s press service.

Prior to the recent appointment, since February 2019 Mr. Smailov has combined two posts of the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
