Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received the Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Agency

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received the Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Agency, Alik Shpekbaev.

Tokayev was briefed on the main performance indicators of the Anti-Corruption Agency for 9 months of this year.

Alik Shpekbayev also reported on the adopted amendments to the anti-corruption legislation and a significant improvement in the country indicator in the World Bank Corruption Control Index.

Noting the importance of continuing consistent modernization of Kazakhstan's anti-corruption policy based on international standards, Tokayev focused on the need for proper implementation of orders to abolish parole for corrupt officials and to prohibit government officials, deputies and judges from holding foreign accounts.

Ending the meeting, the President underscored the priority of effective preventive work and systemic control over the targeted use of budget funds, which is especially important during the pandemic.
