President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received the Russian Defense Minister, Sergei Shoigu, who arrived in Kazakhstan on an official visit.
During the meeting, military and military-technical cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia was discussed.
"The military-technical area, military sphere in general, occupy a very important place in the strategic partnership and allied relations between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation," the President stressed.
He welcomed the signing of the Agreement on Military Cooperation between the two states, emphasizing that it is an important result of the Russian Defense Minister’s visit to Kazakhstan
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated Sergei Shoigu as the organizer of the 75th Victory Parade on its successful holding.
In turn, the Russian DM thanked the President of Kazakhstan for the opportunity to meet and discuss the most pressing challenges.
The Russian Defense Minister expressed gratitude to Tokayev for the worthy participation of Kazakhstan military contingent in the anniversary Victory Parade on Red Square. According to him, this underlined the high level of relations between the two countries. He also noted the active participation of the teams of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan in the International Army Games.
At the end of the meeting, the President awarded Sergei Shoigu the Dostyk Order of the 1st degree for his contribution to the development of military and military-technical cooperation with Kazakhstan.
