The Head of State, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, spoke about the statements of foreigners about the territory of Kazakhstan. The President voiced his opinion in the article "Independence is the most valuable thing", published in the Egemen Qazaqstan newspaper.
"Our sacred land, inherited from our ancestors, is our main wealth. No one from outside gave the Kazakhs this vast territory. Our history today does not start in 1991 or 1936. Our people lived and grew up here during the Kazakh Khanate, and then in the Golden Horde, The Turkic Kaganate, under the Huns and Saks. In a word, the deep roots of our national history lie in the depths of antiquity. In general, history should be studied by historians, not politicians," the article says.
The President noted that the formal recognition of the border by an international treaty and its recognition by the world community have become a trend over the past several centuries. Before that, there was no delimitation and demarcation.
“We remember that while we were dealing with the border issue, some politicians and public figures wanted to say: “Let's not rush”, “We will agree later.” Time has shown that we need to persistently negotiate and immediately strengthen our border. Now, no matter what they say, we have the internationally recognized border established by bilateral agreements," the Head of State notes.
According to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, it is necessary to conduct educational work with restraint. Officially and publicly oppose the provocative actions of some foreigners who doubt our territorial integrity and criticize good neighborly relations.
"As I said above, our borders are completely delimited. After the signing in 2018 of the Convention on the legal status of the Caspian Sea, our borders not only on land, but also at sea were finally determined and resolved," the Head of State concluded.
