Eurasian Intergovernmental Council convenes in Almaty

On February 5, Almaty (Republic of Kazakhstan) will host a full-time meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council with the participation of the heads of government of the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union, observer states under the EAEU - Moldova, Uzbekistan and Cuba, as well as the forum "Almaty Digital Forum 2021."

The Heads of Government of the member states will consider approaches to improve the mechanisms for applying special protective, anti-dumping and compensatory measures in the EAEU, issues of fulfillment of obligations by the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Belarus within the framework of the functioning of the EAEU domestic market. This is a ban on the export of scrap and wastes of ferrous and non-ferrous metals from the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Belarus to the states of the Union.

The EPS members will be informed about the mechanism of application of response measures in the customs territory of the Union in accordance with Article 40 of the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union of May 29, 2014.

The Heads of Government of the EAEU states will be presented with the report of the Eurasian Economic Commission "On the macroeconomic situation in the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union and proposals for ensuring sustainable economic development," the Concept of the development of electronic document management in the maritime checkpoints of the EAEU member states.

It is planned to approve the Procedure for Coordination and Analytical Support of Breeding Work in the Field of Breeding in Member States.

On the same day, the Almaty Digital Forum 2021 forum will also be held. Heads of Government of the Eurasian Economic Union and observer states under the EAEU, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Mikhail Myasnikovich will take part in the plenary session of the digital forum "Digital reset: a breakthrough into a new reality." ECE representatives are also scheduled to participate in the forum.
