Afghan President Ashraf Ghani called Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on telephone. The leaders of Kazakhstan and Afghanistan discussed the state and prospects of bilateral cooperation.
The President of Afghanistan expressed gratitude to Kazakhstan for its constant support of the intra-Afghan dialogue, economic assistance to his country. Tokayev confirmed the invariability of Kazakhstan's course towards comprehensive support of the Afghan state, adding that Kazakhstan will take an active part in the work of international and regional forums to ensure security and assist Afghanistan in restoring its economy and social infrastructure.
To activate all-round contacts with Afghanistan, he noted, the institute of a special envoy in the rank of ambassador-at-large was established. The Presidents reached an agreement to continue the dialogue on specific issues and cooperation areas during the visit of a representative government delegation to Kazakhstan in the first half of this year. President Ashraf Ghani was invited to pay an official visit to our country to clinch the results of negotiations between the government delegations and discuss bilateral cooperation outlook.
