President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev gave a number of instructions to the Government during a meeting on measures to counter coronavirus infection, according to the press service of the Head of State.
"I ask the Government to work out the following promptly: first, introduction of a deferral for payment of certain taxes and payments for SMEs in the affected industries. Second, suspension of enforced collection of tax and customs debts. These measures should be in effect temporarily until the start of a truly mass vaccination and removal of most restrictions," said Tokayev.
Also, the Head of State instructed the Agency for regulation and development of financial market and the National Bank to work out the possibility of deferring payments on loans to SMEs in the affected sectors of the economy.
“Bearing in mind that the Government will still be able to change the situation with the pandemic for the better, first of all, through mass vaccination already in April, from May it is possible to start gradually lifting restrictions from the activities of SMEs, including in the service sector,” the President noted.
According to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, it is also necessary to accelerate the use of digital solutions, which will preserve the mobility of the population in conditions of quarantine restrictions. Digital monitoring will help ensure the stability of business, especially in the service and retail sectors.
"Scaling up the ASHYQ project is not only a business task. The government has to ensure the expansion and active introduction of the system. It is also important to create an appropriate regulatory framework," the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan concluded.
