Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Deputy Prime Minister Yeraly Tugzhanov. The President was briefed on the current epidemiological situation, solution of social issues and the outcome of the Land Commission’s work.
Yeraly Tugzhanov reported stabilization of the epidemiological situation in the country. Since May 1, the incidence of COVID-19 decreased from 0.9% to 0.49%, the occupancy of hospital beds -from 41% to 34%.
2.3 million doses of vaccines against COVID-19 were provided. Another 2 million doses of vaccines are due by the end of May this year. The production volume of domestic vaccine QazVac is to be increased from July to 500 000 doses.
The Deputy Prime Minister provided updates on Ashyq project. Today, 1.5 million Kazakhstanis are active users of this mobile app, and about 7 000 small and medium-sized businesses participate in the project. Tugzhanov also accounted on measures to develop the pharmaceutical industry, science, the Concept of a healthy lifestyle, the Social Code and steps to prevent unemployment.
Earlier, Tokayev gave instructions to the Government to resolve the situation in Bagys and Khiyabon villages of Turkestan region. In pursuance of the instructions, these settlements were given an official status, their borders were determined, an inventory of land plots and property was completed. In July, 6 villages of the region will be provided with natural gas, and next year a school for 300 children will be built in Bagys. Report was presented on the outcome of the Land Commission’s work, within which 121 issues were considered. The relevant bill with amendments is under examination in Parliament.
Ending the meeting, the President gave a number of instructions related to science and education, healthcare, culture, as well as social protection.
